Far from the best of opening legs again at home but after that the Tatti's re-discovered their good form in the second & third legs to end up thrashing Livin' on a Spare by 65 pins, 376-311.
Vorni got the team going with a fabulous 17 spare after confidently dispatching his single pin chance and before the leg was over Berti had helped himself to a 13 spare after felling a single pin as well. With Booby 7 the second leg was just a couple of pins shy of the magic ton.The third leg was even better. Three spares arrived in quick succession. TK's 13 was immediately matched by Cheeso before Boundy stepped up to floor a brilliant 15. More spare chances came & went but before Jonah dispatched another 7 the leg total was already past the ton mark. Although Vorni failed to take another spare opportunity, identical to the one he missed in the third leg, he celebrated with the Tatti's first individual 40 of the season.
Well done everyone, that performance was more like it, and befitting for Benny's 65th birthday, congratulations Phil!
"Another good win but yet again another sub standard opening leg. Livin on a spare however didn’t capitalise and with the alley conditions becoming more challenging we had to bring out the carpets( maybe we should put them down at the start of the game!!) because the spares then started to flow beginning with Vorni’s excellent 17 and then Ian’s 14 to give us a lead after two legs. The third leg was brilliant helped by spares from Liam 13, cheese 13 and Boundy 15 for a total of 109. An all round better performance again with 9 player’s scoring 30 or more but it was Vorni who excelled to record a fantastic total of 40, our first of the season"
