It was Groundhog day at the Military Club, once again the Tatti's started with a mediocre opening leg, improving with the next two & then comfortably seeing off their opponents, this time United Farmers, in the final leg to win by 14, 355-341.
There was much to ponder for the watching Captain Ali, taking it all in from the side lines, but he was surely impressed by the efforts of his mates in the top half in legs 2 & 3, which swung the outcome of the match in the Tatti's favour.
Booby's excellent 17 spare was followed up by Berti's well taken 13 & with three 9's and five 8's added by the others they amassed 108 pins during those two middle legs. The bottom half did their best to keep the game competitive with a dire 34 in the third leg but as they left for the break, their opponents needed 98 to level.
Despite achieving their third & fourth spares United Farmers, two more than the Tatti's, they fell way short with two legs in the eighties. When the Bogoes returned, they needed just 73 to win & they achieved this with ease with Booby ending proceedings to record his & the Tatti's highest score of the season so far (41).
"Another good win against newly promoted united farmers whose excellent 2nd leg of 96 set us the challenge we needed. 87 to level on 2 it looked like it would be tight at the halfway stage but the game was turned dramatically in our favour with 80 off 8 on turn of the the 2nd and 3rd legs aided by excellent spares by Rob (17) and Ian (13). Our opponents responded well but with only a low 80 to finish the two points were ours. Rob topped scored with a brilliant 41 with Ian on 35 and Liam continuing to shine in his new position on 32. Benny returned after his early season layoff through injury and produced a fantastic score of 33 without a spare which has catapulted him to the top of the average !! Well done boys"
