The Tatti's claimed their first points of the season with a good away victory over Military 'D' by four pins, 352-348.
Prycer's 14 spare to end the opening leg was hugely influencial to the outcome of this match. It provided the Bogoes with a decent lead and became even more crucial when their second leg was a disappointing low 80.
After their superb third leg of 103, the game should have been out of their opponents reach but a dire 75 left the door open for the D's win with a 98.
Now, Military D are a decent side, and can beat anyone on their day and, just a couple of weeks earlier, they claimed the Frank Peterson cup, defeating us & the GPO's with a fabulous last leg in the annual Military Club pre-season competition. So, it was no surprise when they responded with three spares in their bottom half. But, with the hard work done, and fortunately for the Bogoes, their top half stuttered and they fell short by 5 pins.
As I stated earlier, Prycer's spare pins made the difference and he rounded his evening off a great performance with a hat-trick of 8's to end up as the Tatti's top scorer. He's also topping the averages table so will be missed next week when he away in Devon.
"Excellent win in what turned out to be a tighter game after we’d opened up a 22 pin advantage after 3 legs. Good spares by Dave(14) Liam(11) and Dutchy(14) put us well in control until a disastrous last leg gave the D’s a really good chance to take the points and when their bottom half produced 3 spares it looked like it would be another defeat for us. However they let us off big time and in a tense finish they fell 4 pins short of the 98 needed to win. They will be gutted because it looked for all the money they would register their first points of the season. A better team performance and pure relief in the end with Dave once again top scoring with an excellent 38"
