Despite another mediocre opening leg at home, the Tatti's cruised to a comfortable victory over Painters 'B' at the Military Club by 36 pins, 359-323.
In the previous away game Painters finished with 101 to win by a single pin so it was a big surprise to see their back to back 79's on the scoreboard, albeit a very welcome one!
Prycer rounded off his evening with a superbly taken 13 spare, which propelled him to claim the sweep honour, and Benny weighed in with an 11 to complete the spare count at 4-0 to the bottom halfer's
Following the match, news came through from the Bowling Club that Evans SC had lost their match against stablemates Woodpeckers by a single pin. So it's now neck-to-neck in the title race with six matches to play.
"Another excellent win against a good painters side who would’ve been confident of completing the double over us. From the off when nothing was coming off the front pin we knew this was going to be hard fought and no one really grumbled when posting an opening leg of 84. Painters response proved how difficult it was with just 82 & 83. Solid skittling for a 91 2nd leg gave us a slender lead half way, but the struggles continued on the 3rd leg until Liam took out a brilliant spare chance for 12 and moments later Jonah repeated that with a well taken spare chance. 92 on the board gave us slight control of the game but painters are dangerous and to our surprise their final two legs were a pair of 79’s. So 57 to win and when Dave started with a fantastic 13( he would go on to top score with 36!!) it was a case of two more points and who would get the winning pins!! ( Vorni) Excellent boys but we must keep it going now"
