4th January v 'C'on Men (A) Won 339 - 329

The first match of 2019 saw the Tatti's travel to the Golden Lion, the venue where it all began for them on 23rd August 1991 in Divison Six. Way back then they competed against an under strengthed Generals team at Home, winning 317-240, this time they were playing 'C'on Men who are having their first ever season in the top flight.

As it happens, the Tatti's first and current season (their 28th) are the only occasions when the the two teams have competed against eachother in the league and coincidentally, the away fixtures have occurred almost exactly 27 years apart (3rd Jan 1992 & 4th Jan 2019). But that is where the similarities end.

In 1992 the game was played at the Conservative Club when 'C'on Men were known as Conservative 'C'. The Tatti's were diabolical that night suffering what remains their worst ever total when fielding a full strength team at 'normal' skittles (not Front Pin). Five players scored less than 20 and nobody reached 30 as they slumped to defeat by 15 pins. Unfortunately, the venue has long since been converted into residential use.

A third of the Tatti's team chalked up on the board above played in both games. For those Bogoes players reading this can you name them?

Anyway, with Captain Ali leading the way with a superb 37, there was no risk of a repeat performance this time and the Tatti's claimed another two points with a comfortable ten  pins victory.
