Chasing 78 to level at the half way point the Bogoes superb 103 secong leg saw them surge into a 25 pins lead and probably ended the match as a contest. Following a two match rest, away from the pressure of the title run in, Booby Weale returned refreshed, minus hair, shadow tash & Deirdre Barlow glasses, with his best score of the season thanks to a brace of well taken spares. Cheeso should have joined him in the 40's but unfortunately his spare ball in the final leg sailed through a gap between the pins.
However, forget the win, Booby's 44, Cheeso's misfortune, or even Vorni's expert sticking, the night really belonged to Rodders who celebrated being 50 years young. Captain Ali ensured consistency was maintained for Rodney by chalking his name up in 8th position on the board (as he did for his previous birthday games in 2006 & 1995). True to form Rodders immediately scored a 7 with his first three balls.
We can forget the rest, Happy Birthday Rodders.
