The Tatti's are searching for a massive improvement in their home form having won just five of their thirteen games last season.
In this, the first game, they faced a good test against Ramblers who beat them comfortably last season 326-347. This time around they found the going much tougher and despite matching the Bogoes spare count at three apiece the result was almost an identical reverse with the Tatti's winning 347-325. The Bogoes opening leg was average at best and the second seemed to be going the same way until Berti weighed in with a 13 spare, making the most of his single pin opportunity. A few moments later he returned for his third go & added another spare which came from a flopper first ball delivery. Bottom half stalwart Phil 'Benny' Hill was watching from the sidelines and wondering if he and his colleagues will ever win a leg this season. He refused to comment on the issue as he saw the top half complete a hat-trick of white washes.
The Tatti's competed at the new Hereford FC alley for the first time and got off to a superb start with a huge opening leg of 109.
Cheeso & Captain Ali's spares was the highlight of the leg which contained four 7's, two eights & four 9's. In start contrast to this their second leg was pretty abysmal just a mere 69 pins felled. Fortunately though their opposition, Buccaneers also struggled on their new home alley and never threatened to make a comeback. In the end the Bogoes ran out comfortable winners by 31 pins as Captain Ali topped the scoring again with a very good 35, his motivational tapes are having a positive effect!
The Tatti's started their 25th season with an 8-3 victory over Strongbow in the Man v Man cup at the Barrels.
Rusty got proceedings off to a flier with a spare but it was Captain Ali who eventually stole the limelight with the top score of 35 after flooring a 15 spare in the third leg. Cheeso had a smashing night beating his opponent by 15.
