The Tattis' returned to the Q.Club for the first time since moving home alley to take on second placed FJ Lions and they ran out victors by 10 pins after an exciting high scoring game, 373-363.
Annoyingly the game suffered from frequent stops & starts as people used the door to the main bar whilst bowling was in progress but it served to support the Bogoes main reason for moving to the Military Club.
Bennys' spare gave the Tattis' an early lead but the frequent disturbances to play during the second leg ruined any momentum they had and they suffered a poor total that just about crept into the 80's.
The Lions took the initiative with two solid legs of 94 & 89 to leave the Bogoes 95 to level when they returned from the mid-game break. Boom...., Booby floored a fantastic 15 then Boom again, Berti followed with a flopper, then moments later a hatrick of Booms, as Stuee joined in with another 15 spare. This quick sequence of large spares matched what Lions had done & with the rest of the team performing well, the leg ended on a huge 107, 12 pins ahead.
Their final leg suffered again from a very long pause as players from the other alley were in transition & using the bloody door again. After about ten minutes or so, the game restarted with Stuees' 6 then Rustys' 8 before Berti floored his second spare, this time a 16, and finally the leg came to an end with Boobys' 7.
FJ Lions faced a score of 102 to win but, failing to increase their spare count, this total was out of reach and the Tattis' edge two points closer to the title.
A slight concern for Captain Ali will be the injury suffered by Jonah who clashed with the Q Clubs' furniture during the opening leg. The table came out on top of the argument to draw blood from Jonahs' bowing hand but somehow, he managed to see out the game.
Update 17/02-24: Ali has sent Jonah to hospital for a scan to ascertain the extent of his injury. More to follow in due course....
