26th November v Evans SC (Away) Won 359-345

The Tatti's were bang on form again with five players all achieving a personal best score against Evans SC at the Volunteer helping their team to win by 14 pins, 359-345.

Trailing by four after the opening leg the top half finished the second with a fantastic 57 to chalk up a leg total of 98 and take control of the match.

Unusually for Evans they failed to rise to the challenge and responded with a couple of mediocre legs. On seeing this, the Tatti's seized their opportunity with both hands and, with brace of 13 spares by Westy & Stuee Griff, the points were well in the bag.

A solid final leg put the game well out of reach for their opponents despite Evans finishing on a high with an excellent 98 of their own. This result now sees the Tatti's extend their lead at the top to five points. A long way to go yet though.

The night's atmosphere was boosted by the presence of former sticker & player Ashley Stubbs who, as the clock ticked past midnight, celebrated his 30th birthday together with Boundy's on his big Five-oh.
Congratulations both.

Some head-to-head stats v Evans SC....

The Tatti's have played Evans SC 64 times in all competitions, winning 34 & losing 30 but, counting total pins, Evans SC lead by 40 (21,024 - 21,064).

At the Volly, the Bogoes now lead 8-7 and have scored 39 more pins (4,828 - 4,789). Captain Ali is the only Tatti to have played in all 15 matches.

For those interested, the five players I mentioned achieving their PB's here are; Westy, Booby, Turps, Liam & Stuee.

19th November v The 'C'on Men (Home) Won 387-338

Another good home win, 387-338, against The 'C'on Men ensured the Tatti's remain undefeated this Season.

Stuee Griff starred with a hat-trick of spares in a huge 49 total with Benny only a couple of pins behind him on 47.

All the Bottom halfers were on their game the record the first whitewash 4-0.

12th November v Woodentops (Away) Won 346-320

A trip to the Tatti's former home, The Barrels, was a successful one as they defeated Woodentops by 26 pins, 346-320.

Westy is fast becoming a robot. Yet another flawless performance from him helped the Bogoes close
out the game to gain two more points & continue his own record of scoring 30+ in every game this season.

Whilst Westy's demeanour was as calm as calm could be, it was a much more emotional night for Booby. Fighting off the demons from his past experiences here, he celebrated his spare with such passion it was like watching a 'Phoenix from the Flames' rendition for the Stuart Pearce penalty against Spain in Euro 96.

Booby & Westy are now just a pin apart at the top of the averages, Westy's at the summit, but forget that, this night belonged to Boundy with a superb effort.

This season Boundy is discovering places to stand that he's rarely found before & is reaping the rewards for it. Two eights & two spares in a brilliant 42 total has resulted in him climbing up the averages into third place and challenging the likes of Westy & Rob for the Bob McCann Memorial Cup.

5th November v Phoenix Nights (Home) Won 360-353

After the draw against Beevers the previous week the Tatti's returned to winning ways with a well fought 7 pins victory over Phoenix Nights at home, 360-353

West starred with a superb 43 containing a wonderful 18 & a well taken 13. Turps was next best on 36 having started with a dozen he gave Griff plenty of practice chalking up eights, none of which look as good as his own.

Finally, there was nothing to separate the Collins' pair. Both ended up as the Bogoes lowest scorers and will be limited to playing a supporting role only next week, when the team travel to the Barrels. Every cloud n-all that!

Talking of support, it was a pleasure to welcome back a few Tatti old boys, Sammer, Scotty & Thommo.

Scotty has played for the Bogoes 34 times. His debut was on 27th September 1991 at the Belmont Inn where he scored 32 in a win over Belmont Sports in Division 6. In his final game that season he lifted the Champion of Champions cup, and then left Hereford to join the forces.

Scotty returned for a one-off appearance on 5th September 2008 against Harry's Lads at the Railway Club, today this remains his only game for the team in Division 1.

Thommo has played 96 games for the Tatti's. He debuted in the Bogoes very first match on 23rd August 1991 at the Golden Lion when, at No8 on the board, he scored 24 to help the team beat The Generals.

He continued playing until the start of their fourth season, his last match was on 12 October 1994, when the Tatti's beat Jubilee at the Cross Keys in round two of the Front Pin Cup. He then left Hereford to pursue a new career in the medical profession.

Sammer has played 170 matches for the Tatti's. His debut was on 26th August 1994 against Burlings Boys in division 4 when he scored 34 with a 13 & a 14 spare. He continued playing until 1st April 1998 after which he left Hereford for the bright lights of London Town & a spell being a student at University.

Returning to the 'Ford in 2005 & rejoined the Bogoes on 16th September that year, scoring 24 in a victory over Wellies at K's Pool Club. However, he left again after the match against Military D on 23rd April 2008, but has since made four more one-off appearances as a 'sleeper'. His last game was on 13th April 2018 helping the team beat Fire Bridgade in a play-off match at the Military Club.

3rd November v Pins of Anarchy (Man v Man R2) Won 7-1

The Tatti's cruised through to round 3 of the Man v Man cup with a 7-1 victory over Pins of Anarchy at the Snooker Centre.

Berti top scored with 37 thanks to a flopper 15 on his first go and Turps ended the night with a well taken 15 spare to finish on 35.

Apart from the two spares, the only other memorable event was Jonah's massive work boots which were so huge he struggled to bowl whilst wearing them. So, from the second leg onwards he didn't.....

29th October v Beevers (Away) Drew 370-370

The Tatti's drop their first point of the season following a high scoring draw away against Beevers, 370-370.

Phil Hill excelled with superb total of 48, his personal best for the Tatti's but, he would have added his name to the Bogoes 50 club if he'd taken advantage of the single pin chance (for a spare) on his first go.

With a good 38, Rob Weale leap-frogged Liam, who was playing his 100th game, to top spot in the Bogoes averages table.

Anyway, they'll treat this as a point gained & will roll on to next Wednesday when they return to the same alley to start the defence of their Man v Man title against Pins of Anarchy.
